Ok who didn’t see The Dark Knight this past weekend?
The movie shattered records - expectantly- taking in $155.3 mill this past weekend. And guess what, that is the biggest opening - ever. Congrats to Heath because he deserves it.
The second biggest was Spider Man 3 with $151.1 back in 2007.
Did you see it? What did you think?
My thoughts:
Way too dark. Not magical. I can’t stand this new director, Christopher Nolan - he has some serious Batman issues.
They need to bring back Jim Carey as the Riddler and Arnold as Mr. Freeze because that is the real batman. Although corny and idiotic, Batman isn’t supposed to be as dark as this batman was. And Perez agrees with me.
The movie was also way too long, shortly shy of three hours, you don’t know how many times I would think to myself “ok it is going to end now” and then about an hour more of the movie would proceed. Oh yea and if you like Saw and the whole “who are you going to choose to live or die concept?” - done more than once- then you are going to love it.
Thoughts on Heath- honestly not to be mean but, if Heath didn’t die then there wouldn’t be any Oscar talk at all. He did a great job, not a spectacular job. He wasn’t given that much material anyway, so what he was given with, he did great. The action scenes weren’t “wowing” either; I think Matrix beat them on that. Anyways, I hated Batman Begins and now I know not to see another Batman movie as long as the director / writer, Christopher Nolan, is on board and he hasn’t seen a psychiatrist about his umm “Batman issues”. Seriously, why do we have to make everything so serious? If I wanted to be depressed and see something “real”, I would go to CNN.com.
