Mangia y Bevi. Eat and drink. Ahh Italians know what it is all about.
This cute little restaurant, Mangia y Bevi, has been a favorite of mine for years. Back in the day, my group of friends and I would go to this restaurant for each person’s birthday. Here they made you dance on top of your chair, played really cheesy party music, and gave you tambourines to dance with while singing happy birthday to you.

Although we haven’t frequented this Upper West Side restaurant in a few years, for my friends 22nd birthday this past Saturday we made an appearance. And boy did things get raunchier. Just across the street from the restaurant, Cristina and I heard loud music blaring from the open door of the restaurant. “Wow this place is lively” Cristina said, I then told her about the celebration here when it is someone’s birthday.
Once we got to the door way, we saw a man sitting in a chair, with a shot between his legs, a woman on her knees with a tacky “Bachelorette” slash and a headband with glowing “devil ears” attached. She then put her mouth between the waiter’s legs and lifted the shot into her mouth, using her mouth only, while another waiter held her hair back and kept her arms folded behind her.

”Or they do that…” I told Cristina, as we both looked on a bit shocked. This was something new.
The restaurant was a lot of fun, the food isn’t spectacular and the sangria could have used some vodka (yes I know, that isn’t technically an ingredient in Sangria, it should be) but the atmosphere was a lot of fun. About every five minutes there would be another bachelorette that would do the “BJ” shot, which was funny to watch and really entertaining, and made me appreciate that I wasn’t one of them.
