Last week I got the chance to interview Sayne Kharyi who runs his own personal shopping service, Red Carpet Inc. Sayne was a pleasure to interview, he has such great personal style and picked out fabulous dresses for the spring / summer 2008 season at Saks Fifth Avenue! We had drinks at the Four Seasons on 58th Street betw. Madison Avenue and Park Avenue. I had the Bellini Martini and Sayne had the Berry Martini. Sayne’s assistant, Elle-Marie, was daring and tried Envy (green tea, with Jose Cuervo tequilla and club soda). Delicious drinks in a fabulous setting!

Check back later this week for the full length interview!!

Everyone’s favorite bad girl turned mommy

Nicole Richie/Harlow Madden/Joel Madden

One of my favorite celebrities, Nicole Richie, had a play date with other moms and their babies in Los Angeles this past weekend. She bought almost 3-month-old Harlow Madden along for the play date.  Jen Myer, Tobey Maguire’s wife, also bought her 2-years-old daughter, Ruby, along for the play date.

I am so happy to see Nicole trying and somewhat accomplishing being a happy and healthy mommy! Wow she has come a long way!

In fact, I am so proud of her I am not going to write one word about her umm mommy outfit! At least she isn’t dancing on top of any more tables.

More babies!!

Hollywood isn’t the only place where there are babies, babies and more babies. My friend who I threw a baby shower for a couple of months ago,   Baby Shower ,  finally had her little bundle of joy. Although I am remaining mum on the details … I was just so excited about a new “angel” to our little “Charlie’s Angel”  group (we imaginarily named ourselves when we had nothing better to do one day). Yay more babies!!

Marquee

Marquee is starting a new night. Marquee is now bringing you Wednesday nights!!!

How old is Marquee pushing? 5 years? That’s ancient in Manhattan nightlife, in fact I believe that is longer than the average marriage. Congrats Marquee.

Btw, how obvious is it that Marquee now wants to be the competition of Bunny Chow Wednesday at Cain, and Pink Elephant’s weekly Wednesday party that’s been going on for how long now? Ahh West 27th Street is starting to take its reign back from Meatpacking.

Will you be checking out Marquee on Wednesdays?

Mr. Chow/57th Street/New York City

I must say I have a wonderful boyfriend. Last week he surprised me and took me to Mr. Chow’s for dinner. The food was delicious…. lobster, dumplings, pork, chicken ,rice were all on the menu- not like there is an official menu. You sit at the white table cloth covered table and the waiter, dressed in a tuxedo, asks you what you like to eat. You can pick anything and then they just bring different assortments for you to eat. There is another waiter who pushes a cart around with 5 different bottles of champagne to choose from - by the glass or the bottle. I had three different glasses of champagne, and each sip bought me right back to one of my favorite cities in Europe… Paris!! (Read about my Paris memory lane post here Paris ).

I have to admit, I was a bit confused- is this luxury chinese food or a European restaurant?? There were about three birthday’s here and each time the waiters sang “Happy Birthday” they said “Happy Birthday Bella” (Bella means beautiful in Italian). The whole champagne influence is also very European. Either way, European or chinese, I loved it  and I am so happy he bought me here. And the best part is that it was just any other day. We didn’t need a special occasion to go to a nice restaurant. Just because…. =)

Not only was Mr. Chow a great surprise, but my boyfriend also framed my Down By The Hipster review of Touch (Check out the review here Nicolette Review of Touch). He printed it out, framed it, and even went to Victoria’s Secret and put the two tone pink bag as the “background” in the frame. How cute!! I love it so much, and he supports me so much which makes me the most happiest =)

 Rosebar/The Gramercy Park Hotel/

Afterwards we stopped by at the Rosebar for a quick drink, a very quick drink… I didn’t even finish my Stoli Rasberry with sprite. We then headed over to the meatpacking district and met up with a few of our friends at wine bar “Fig n Olive” one block down from the Hotel Gansevoort.

I must say with a name like “Fig N Olive” I didn’t expect much. This place did surprise me though, it is a very cute spot in a very trendy neighborhood. How trendy? Appetizers  start at $16 and Entrees start at $25. That is meatpacking for you!! Anyways, the place was pretty full on a Wednesday night, and a lot of people were here just for drinks. It did clear out by midnight though.  Very cute, I will definitely be back.

I went and checked out the new gambling movie, 21. It was great, very funny, the story line moved quickly, and of course… lots of Las Vegas action!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see a good movie. I posted the trailer as well, just incase you aren’t completely convinced on checking the movie out.

subMercer pt 2

Kate Bosworth/Jim Strugess/21

I originally posted  “directions” to get to subMercer, subMercer ,the exclusive lounge beneath the Mercer Hotel in Soho. Well subMercer is definitely building up their credibility. This past Tuesday the movie “21″ had its after party after a private screening of their movie, at the Mercer Kitchen, which I personally love, Mercer Kitchen. The festivities continued  in subMercer and guests partied late into the night. Guests included Mary-Kate Olsen, Clive Owen, Helena Christensen and of course the stars of the movie, Kate Bosworth and Jim Sturgess. Will you be checking out 21 this weekend?

Quote of The Day

Blogged under Celebrity Gossip by nicolette on Thursday 27 March 2008 at 7:52 pm

Ok so I am just going to say it… I am not a huge fan of Madonna. At least not the Madonna today- the Madonna back in the day had great hits. But now, she just doesn’t really have it anymore. Therefore, I don’t really write about her too much. But I read this quote from her article with Q Magazine which I thought was great. It shows she has insecurities even though she is Madonna. She is just like everyone else. Except she gets to have a duet with Justin Timberlake

”What else is there for me to conquer? Hopefully my ego. How will I know when I’ve succeeded? When I stop caring what anyone thinks.” - Madonna

Here is  Madonna on the cover of Vanity Fair. I thought she looked hot!! And I never think that!!! Isn’t she almost 50????

Paris!!

Blogged under Celebrity Gossip, Fashionista Diaries by nicolette on Thursday 27 March 2008 at 7:38 pm

So I was reading  http://www.people.com/ about Charlize Theron, and her boyfriend Stuart Townsend, and their trip to Paris over Easter.

Charlize Theron, getting some fresh air with her beau Stuart Townsend in Paris. There for the holiday weekend, the couple also hit the stores. Among their shopping stops: Dior, Lanvin (where Theron shared a glass of champagne with designer Alber Elbaz) and then on to John Galliano to pick out lingerie. The following day, the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner at the Bois de Boulogne’s Pré Catelan restaurant. The couple also took time for a stroll in the Jardin des Plantes’ Natural History Museum followed by a private walk-in at the Da Vinci Code’s Eglise St. Sulpice.”

Reading that reminded me of my wonderful trip to Paris when I was 19-years-old (wow how the years fly!!). So I thought I would bring you down memory lane with me…

At the Louvre. I went with my family on this trip. My mom was obsessed with the book “The Da Vinci Code” (this was the winter before the movie came out). So every place we saw had a part in the book. This was cool because when the movie came out I saw all the places they filmed in Paris. The pyramid that points to the grown was where Mary Magdelene’s bones were buried in the movie.

Sacre Couer/Paris/Eiffel Tower

This was the carousel in front of my favorite church in Paris, Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart). It was my favorite church because it was white (most churches were made out of dark concrete), was high on a mountain top,  and over looked all over Paris. It was also in my favorite part of Paris, Montmarte. Montmarte is the young trendy greenwich village type of Paris, where the artists live. This is also where Moulin Rouge is located, and I went and saw a show here as well!

My favorite day, or not so favorite day, had to be my last day before I left. On Sunday everything is closed in Paris. Except Disney World & Churches! So we went to Disney World. Now the entire week we were there it was 50 degrees or more everyday. The day we choose to go to Euro Disney, it was 32 degrees. I hate the cold. We went on the ride, Pirates of The Carribbean, and if you have been on the ride in Florida, it is a very easy boat ride where you don’t get wet at all. Well I was sitting at the edge and we had a little dip in our ride, all the water fell on top of me and drenched me! I mean I was soaked. My jeans, my sneakers, everything. I walked outside and it was absolutely freezing. I thought I would just dry off but after 20 minutes I began to shake because I was so cold. My mom forced me to buy blue fleece Disney pants (that were a size large and I am a size x-small) to keep me warm. See my oh so fashionable picture below (I also had some hot chocolate to keep me warm). Since the pants were so big on me, I could barely walk around. I constantly had to keep pulling up my pants.

Euro Disney/Paris/Mickey Mouse/Disney Land

I also accidentally flashed a guard while he was searching me before entering a church in Paris. But that is a whole different post.

Ahhh Paris!!
